Reading the inspiring stories in this edition of Strategy Times, I’m impressed by the great strides we have made in our strategy this year. Perhaps I’m most proud of the way in which we did it; with the commitment of so many colleagues, from all parts of the organisation. Many of the projects involve working with multidisciplinary teams, across faculty and departmental boundaries. Not only does this improve the chances of success, it also makes work more fun, as it leads to new, sometimes unexpected encounters between colleagues. Working on our strategic goals therefore leads to more mutual connection and that is already a result in itself!
A new year brings new challenges and objectives. The VUture Proof improvement process will require a lot of time and attention in 2023, and the implementation of the strategy will no longer be taken up in a programme organisation, but in the organisation itself. However, this does not mean that we are as good as done with implementing the strategy. There is still a lot of work to be done before all our goals and aspirations are realised. I notice that the line organisation is ready to move from a cooperative role to a leading role in the strategy implementation. This wonderful movement gives me full confidence that our strategic goals will continue to take shape in the years to come.
Many thanks to all colleagues who contribute to this in any way!
