Week in pictures
Mojdeh Feili studied English Literature in a Visual Culture at VU Amsterdam, works as a programme producer, reviewer and writer, but is actually mainly a feminist who never walks around without a book in her bag and likes to give her opinion.
Mon Vote for a woman
Every Monday, I work at the office of the Vote for a Woman foundation. Among other roles, I work as a project assistant of a large collaborative project called Alliance Politica, whose aim is to improve the position of women in politics.
Tue Avanti
I am in Almere at Avanti where I work as a programme producer. We start the day with an editorial meeting. My colleague Veerle had a nice flyer printed with our busy schedule. We organise everything: follow-up talks at films, talk shows, events for newcomers and also publication of articles.
Tue Home Office
I have a very nice reading sofa in my office. I am reviewing an 800-page book for Het Parool: The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois, written by Honorée Fanonne Jeffers. Highly recommended. My cat Donder was also very interested!
Wed IDAHOBIT
Again in Almere, where I had a meeting about a programme that has been put together in collaboration with the municipality for IDAHOBIT (international day against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia).
Thu Flowers
I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from publisher Blossom Books because I made a podcast for them that finally went live this week. Central to the podcast was the book Home I carry with me by Cecile Korevaar. Where the book stops, we continue in the podcast.
Thu Jury member
I received 27 stories that were pre-selected for the writing competition The Red Ear. I'm a jury member, so now it's up to me to grade each story and provide comments. These are all erotic stories. Bonus: spot my fidget toy, which is indispensable if I have to read a lot.
Fri Hortus Botanicus
After a day of driving around with Amnesty International, I went to the Hortus for a freedom meal to which I was invited by poet Babeth Fonchi Fotchind. She put us in the spotlight and the theme of the evening was resilience. As you can see, it was a lot of fun.
Sat Day off
I had a day off and there was also sun, so I sat down in the park. I had brought the weekend edition of Het Parool with me because my review appeared in it. Let's see how it turned out!
Sun Writing workshop
The Writer's Guide to the Galaxy, in collaboration with De Nieuwe Liefde, organised a writing workshop with the theme astrology, on the basis of which you can create characters. I started working on a story I'm writing for Storytel.
