Life after PPE

What do our alumni do after graduating?

Having been founded in 2016, we only have two cohorts of graduates so far. Nevertheless, the directions in which these graduates have gone and the dreams they pursue are already so versatile. The majority of PPE graduates continue their studies with a Master’s programme in one of the three disciplines (philosophy, politics or economics) or in a related subject like environmental policy or development studies.

Pursuing a master’s in the Netherlands

Many PPE students continue to do a Master’s degree at our own university. For instance, a Master in Law and Politics of International Security, Development Economics, Philosophy or Political Science. Additionally, some students decided to continue with a Master’s in Global Business & Sustainability at Erasmus University Rotterdam, or a Economics Master at the University of Amsterdam. Finding a job

PPE graduates make excellent opinion leaders and decision makers due to the critical-thinking and problem-solving skills they've acquired, as well as the multi-disciplinary nature of the programme itself. Examples of jobs PPE alumni have landed are:

  • Policy Researcher at Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Trainer at Dutch Debate Institute
  • Junior Economic Researcher at De Argumentenfabriek
  • Communications & PR Officer at Room for Discussion
  • Analyst KYC at ABN AMRO Bank
  • Freelance Film Producer
  • Regional Operations Manager (Marketplace), Uber Eats - EMEA
  • Intern on International Forest Policy at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)

During their 3rd year, PPE students have the opportunity to study abroad or do an internship for one semester. Some graduates decide to do an (additional) internship after graduating. Examples of companies where they have done an internship or are currently interning are: the International Fund for Animal Welfare, the United Nations Watch and PwC.
